Music lawyer Dr. Christian Alexander Bauer advises clients in the music and media industries across the globe, particularly in the fields of copyright and publishing rights, as well as licensing, trademark, and competition laws.
Since 2013, Dr. Bauer has been advising in particular the independent label "Seven.One Starwatch", the leading company for music, live entertainment, events, brand partnerships as well as artist management within the Seven.One Entertainment Group, on the conclusion of national and international artist, licensing, distribution and other music industry agreements.
Dr. Bauer was also involved in realizing the “AMPYA” music streaming service, acquired from “DEEZER” in 2014. The range of advisory services here included not only negotiating music license agreements, but also drafting the central product development and operating agreement, the exclusive mobile phone cooperation agreement as well as a large number of peripheral agreements to ensure the technical and operative business.
In addition, Dr. Bauer is a long-term consultant to ProSiebenSat.1 Media SE with a focus primarily on advising the various affiliates in connection with license and cooperation agreements under music law, and supporting corporate transactions with a musical focus of activity.
In 2022 and 2023, Dr. Bauer also assisted Sony Music Entertainment Germany GmbH with selected artist, recording license, distribution and other cooperation agreements for the licensing and worldwide exploitation of the musical creations of its partners from Germany and abroad.
Since 2024, Dr. Bauer has also been advising Raab Entertainment GmbH and Raab Music GmbH on all music law issues in connection with the TV shows they produce, in particular the ESC preliminary round 2025, the development and promotion of new talents and the comprehensive exploitation of the music and media content they create.
